Supporting Our Community
Support Redditch is a volunteer-run organisation that provides aid and relief to the people of Redditch in times of catastrophe. We work with community groups such as the Disability Support Project and others, along with Tesco, Morrisons, our local councils and councillors, and anyone else who wants to support their community in a time of need.
How We Operate
We’re a registered charity governed by our constitution and managed by our Trustees for the public’s benefit to provide aid and relief to those affected by an emergency such as a pandemic or other catastrophe.
Statement of Political Neutrality
In accordance with the law, charities like Support Redditch can campaign to achieve their purposes. But a charity can’t:
- have a political purpose, or
- undertake political activity that is not relevant to the charity’s charitable purposes
Trustees must not allow the charity to be used as a vehicle for the expression of the personal or party political views of any individual trustee, staff member or approved volunteer.
The Trustees will take action against any attempts to use Support Redditch as a vehicle for the expression of personal or party political views.
All political activists and elected representatives are asked to read and agree to this statement prior to volunteering with Support Redditch. We welcome volunteers from all political parties.
