This is a great book written by Jack Munroe, well known blogger of budget recipes. There are loads published for free on her website.
Tin Can Cook was written with the idea that some people are unable to access pantries full of fresh ingredients, and may have limited cooking or preparation facilities.
My favourite recipes include corned beef chilli (I’m making that this week) and tin-estrone soup. Some of the recipes are interesting – try the peach and chickpea curry! Her recipes are largely vegetarian and easily adapted to use what you have available.
Meanwhile, please try and shop sensibly and respectfully. Stockpiling means those residents who cannot afford to buy large amounts of shopping are unable to buy essential supplies. Our supermarkets are working really hard to keep shelves stocked so we have to play our part and avoid taking more than we need.
